Wilmy Marrero brings nearly a decade of coaching and player development experience to BreakAway Speed's baseball program. A Houston native with deep Dominican roots, Wilmy combines high-level playing experience with a passion for developing young athletes both on and off the field.

Raised in the Pasadena/South Houston area, Wilmy attended Pasadena High School, where he was a four-year letterman and earned All-District and All-Area honors. His collegiate baseball career took him through Texas Southern University, Alvin Community College, and ultimately Southern University, where he spend two seasons competing at the Division I level.

During his time at Southern University, Wilmy earned First Team All-Conference honors, was selected to the First Team All-Tournament Team, and was nominated for the Louisiana Division I Newcomer of the Year award. Following graduation in 2013, a significant arm injury brought his playing career to an end, but it also sparked a new passion: coaching and mentoring the next generation of athletes.

Wilmy transitioned into coaching at Southern University, focusing on player development, mentorship, and skill instruction. Since then, he has dedicated his career to helping athletes of all ages reach their potential through quality instruction, accountability, and a strong work ethic.

With more than nine years of coaching and personal training experience in the Houston select baseball community, Wilmy has worked extensively with players ranging 8U to 17U. Over the past five seasons, he has served as a coach within the Los Tigres organization, helping athletes develop their skills, gain confidence, and pursue opportunities to continue their academic and athletic careers at the next level.

Wilmy's mission is simple: develop fundamentally sound baseball players, build confident young leaders, and help every athlete maximize their potential both on and off the field.
