Coach Vivana Alaniz
Softball Outfield, Hitting & Player Development Specialist
Viviana Alaniz is a former collegiate softball outfielder and longtime BreakAway Speed athlete who brings passion, experience, and strong player-development insight to the athletes she coaches. A dual-sport athlete early in high school, Viviana ultimately committed fully to softball and played varsity for Galena Park High School through her senior year.
From ages 14 to 18, she trained at BreakAway Speed - an experience that shaped her athletic growth and later inspired her to return as a coach.
Viviana committed to Vernon College in Vernon, Texas, where she played outfield from 2020 to 2022 while earning her associate's degree. She then continued her softball career at Kansas Wesleyan University from 2022 to 2024, contributing as an outfielder and helping the team reach the KCAC conference tournament.
In May 2024, she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing Communications. Throughout her academic and athletic journey, Viviana developed a deep understanding of leadership, resilience, communication, and the mental side of performance.
She credits softball with teaching her some of her most meaningful life lessons: embracing failure, learning from criticism, growing through adversity, and leading by example. Viviana now brings those lessons to her athletes as she teaches them the game, builds their confidence, and helps them understand both the technical and mental aspects of softball.
Viviana is excited to help players become smarter, stronger, more confident athletes - and to mentor them the same way her coaches once mentored her.
