Coach Jena Edwards
Volleyball Skills, Fundamentals & Athlete Development Specialist
Jena Edwards brings more than a decade of volleyball coaching experience to BreakAway Speed, with a proven track record of developing athletes across all ages and skill levels. She has coached and volunteered with the YMCA for 12 years, where she built a strong foundation in teaching fundamentals, fostering confidence, and creating positive training environments for young athletes.
From 2014 to 2017, Jena led her own club volleyball team, Weekley Dynamite, gaining valuable experience in competitive play, team management, and advanced athlete development. She has also spent 11 years training volleyball athletes privately, working with players ranging from 10U beginners to experienced adult athletes.
In addition to her club and private coaching experience, Jena has coached middle school volleyball for 5 years, giving her deep insight into youth athletic progression, movement fundamentals, and sport-specific skill building.
Jena’s coaching approach is structured, supportive, and tailored to each athlete. She emphasizes proper technique, footwork, communication, and confidence — helping players understand both the physical and mental components of volleyball.
Her passion for the sport and dedication to developing athletes shines through in every session. Whether working with new players or advanced competitors, Jena focuses on refining skills, improving game IQ, and empowering athletes to reach their goals.
